Exploring the Role of Single Function Agents in Negotiation

D. C. Brown

As our group is new to the area, we are first doing a survey of work on Negotiation. We are attempting to characterize most of the main research efforts by developing and using a set of attributes. These include the presence and role of a central agent; the amount of knowledge each agent has about other agents; the communication language used; whether there is a global record of the design; the reasons for conflict; whether the agents are cooperative; whether the agents are homogeneous; whether a design/negotiation history is kept/used; and the negotiation strategies used.
