The first Artificial Intelligence Planning Conference (AIPS-92) was held at the University of Maryland in June 1992, organized by Jim Hendler and Drew McDermott. This, the second conference (AIPS-94), was held at the University of Chicago in June 1994 and was organized by Kristian Hammond. The papers in this work present current state of the art research in AI planning systems. Reviewed papers present research on how to generate plans to succeed in uncertain environments, improving robot plans during their execution, managing dynamic temporal constraint networks, and solving time-critical decision-making problems.
