The last few years have seen a growing interest in the design, use, and sharing of ontologies. Early work and workshops in this area have focused on formal foundations, content, and engineering aspects. This workshop focus on issues relating to managing ontologies and ontological content. These issues become increasingly important as the size of ontologies and repositories grows, and as ontologies are incorporated into practice. Topics of this workshop included medicine, natural language, materials science and engineering, enterprise modeling (including process, product, and organization modeling), manufacturing, engineering, and industrialprocesses, financial/economical modeling, crisis management, and defense applications
