A: AI Alert, distributed biweekly to AAAI members, is made up of the articles on the AI in the news page, the AI Topics news collection for the lay public. See our selection policy for the criteria. The articles are typically those that:
 ... the person in the seat next to you on an airplane might mention once s/he learns that you are involved with AI; ... deal with an important issue or a topic that received significant media coverage;
... might prompt you to write a letter to the editor;
... showcase the vox populi;
... are about a friend or colleague;
... discuss the need for outreach initiatives and/or feature some of the ways people are responding to this important professional responsibility;
