For each video:
- Project Coordinator: Add pages for videos as submitted. Assume AAAI members will be willing to review and edit videos under the wiki model.
- For the pilot project, start with BGB and RGS viewing videos, adding notes and other metadata, and selecting start and end times for short video clips.
- Through this process, we will determine how many hours it takes to review and index one hour's worth of video.
- A priori we assume at least two. However, NetFlix hires film students and others to view videos and write descriptions for the Web site. Jim Bennett estimates it takes 1.5 times the video length for this process.
- We will try to enlist volunteer help through the wiki from AAAI Fellows and other AAAI members.
- Project Coordinator: Request permissions from people identified in video.
- Project Coordinator: Receive new submissions plus indexing notes and start-end points for selected short video clips through wiki Submit pages.
- Project Coordinator: Create video clips (compression standard and parameters TBD).
- Yet to be determined are the compression standard and parameters. See Video Clip Notes.
- Could this process by outsourced? Do we need to actually put clips up on the AAAI server or just identify the interesting segments by start time & duration?
- Project Coordinator: Add indexing notes, storage location and metadata to master catalog. The metadata will include details on the processing (e.g., compression, hardware, signal processing) as well as AI-specific terms.
- Project Coordinator and AI Topics Webmaster: Update the appropriate AI Topics Web pages with video clips, notes, metadata and acknowledgment of reviewer. The videos will be displayed on a single consolidated Web page. They will also be linked to the appropriate topic pages (e.g., vision, search).
- Project Advisory Board and Project Coordinator: As the archive is taking shape, communicate the project goals and existence of the new site to the AAAI community. Encourage feedback, comments, new videos, etc. Member input will be needed to help identify new materials and to identify funding sources.
- AAAI Office: Libraries or individuals may request full-length copies of videos. Upon request, burn a DVD and send, charging a nominal fee to offset cost and discourage collectors of anything free.
