- Project Coordinator: Identify one or more university or museum archivists willing to keep the historical record in temperature- and humidity-controlled conditions in perpetuity.
- We hope to persuade the Stanford, MIT, CMU and Edinburgh libraries each to take on regional responsibility for videos from people in their geographic area and we will seek funding to support their involvement.
- Project Coordinator: Discuss possible solutions with archivists; collate ideas and develop a preliminary workflow; propose workflow to libraries; solicit feedback; develop final workflow. Also draw upon best-practices available from experienced organizations; e.g., Multimedia seeds (audio and video collections in schools and libraries).
- Project Coordinator: Recommend one or more video services to process the videos.
- We may be able to work directly with a university in this regard (e.g., Stanford).
- Project Coordinator: Recommend metadata standards for archived video, using best-practice guidelines so that the formats as well as the contents are known when video technology changes.
- Project Advisory Board and AAAI Office: Approve workflow, metadata standards and hardware purchase.
- Project Advisory Board and Project Coordinator: Solicit videos from AAAI Fellows (including date, main topic, people, items of note and other contextual information, if possible).
- AAAI Office: Purchase hard drives (see Video Notes).
