It shows the Reading Tutor developed by Carnegie Mellon University’s Project LISTEN (www.cs.cmu.edu/~listen), directed by Jack Mostow. The Reading Tutor uses automatic speech recognition to listen to children read aloud, and responds with recorded human speech and graphical feedback modeled after reading experts but adapted to the affordances and limitations of speech technology.
