Registration and login are required to submit items online and to check the status of current submissions.

 

Submission Preparation Checklist

  1. The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another conference or symposium for consideration.

  2. None of the fonts used in my paper are type 3. (I understand that if my paper contains type 3 fonts it will not be published)

    In addition, all fonts in my paper are named with “real” font names (no names with tildes or numbers after them, or names like TT877C195EtCID.

  3. The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the AAAI Press Formatting Instructions for Authors (that is, it is 2 columns, formatted in Times or Times Roman or Times New Roman (or Nimbus Roman), has the correct margins, is in the proper type size, the paper size for final submission is US Letter, not A4, and the document margins are exactly .75 inches (top, left, and right) and 1.25 inches (bottom).

  4. The title follows mixed-case capitalization rules (e.g. “Title of Your Paper,” not “Title of your paper”).

  5. If my paper was formatted using LaTeX, I have used an unaltered copy of the 2011 version of aaai.sty, and aaai.bst and my LaTeX source file does not use the hyperref or geometry package.

    If my paper was formatted in Word, I have used an unaltered copy of the 2011 version of the aaai.doc file.

  6. I have checked every page of my paper and certify that it contains the proper margins, reasonably conforms to the formatting guidelines, and is not being submitted past the deadline. I understand that if this is not the case, I may be required to reformat the paper (or pay a fee to have it corrected or included) or have it excluded from the proceedings.

  7. I have signed and mailed the original of the AAAI Permission to Distribute form (included in the author kit) to AAAI (445 Burgess Drive, Suite 100 Menlo Park, CA 94025). I understand that my paper will not be published if I do not submit this signed form in a timely manner.

  8. I understand that www.aaai.org/ocs/ is a temporary submission site for the private use of registered authors of the conference, and I will not publicize this site or the private url of my paper.

Authors who publish a paper in this conference agree to the following terms:

  1. Author(s) agree to grant nonexclusive world rights to AAAI to (a) use the above-named Work as part of an AAAI Press publication, in all languages and for all editions; (b) use the Work, together with the author's name and pertinent biographical data, in advertising and promotion of it and the AAAI Press publication; (c) publish or cause to be published the Work in connection with any republication of the AAAI Press publication in any medium including electronic; and (d) the right to, and authorize others to, publish or cause to be published the Work in whole or in part, individually or in conjunction with other works, in any medium including electronic.
  2. The author(s) warrants that they are the sole author and owner of the copyright in the above article/paper, except for those portions shown to be in quotations; that the article/paper is original throughout; and that the undersigned right to make the grants set forth above is complete and unencumbered

The author(s) agree that if anyone brings any claim or action alleging facts that, if true, constitute a breach of any of the foregoing warranties, the author(s) will hold harmless and indemnify AAAI, their grantees, their licensees, and their distributors against any liability, whether under judgment, decree, or compromise, and any legal fees and expenses arising out of that claim or actions, and the undersigned will cooperate fully in any defense AAAI may make to such claim or action. Moreover, the undersigned agrees to cooperate in any claim or other action seeking to protect or enforce any right the undersigned has granted to AAAI in the article/paper. If any such claim or action fails because of facts that constitute a breach of any of the foregoing warranties, the undersigned agrees to reimburse whomever brings such claim or action for expenses and attorneys’ fees incurred therein.
