AAAI Publications

The Association for the Advancement of Artificial Intelligence (AAAI), formerly known as the American Association for Artificial Intelligence, is a nonprofit technical society devoted to advancing the scientific understanding of the mechanisms underlying thought and intelligent behavior and their embodiment in machines.

Founded in 1979, the association consists of thousands of research scientists, knowledge engineers, computer science professionals, psychologists, linguists, cognitive scientists, academicians in related fields, and engineers. AAAI's leadership consists of the most significant names in the field of AI research in the world.

As a technical society, AAAI is concerned not only with the goals of basic AI research but also with AI applications that contribute to an increased scientific understanding of AI. The association also promotes the free interchange of information about the knowledge of AI among specialists and the public in the best of scientific traditions.

AAAI publishes nearly a hundred proceedings, technical reports, edited collections and monographs, and magazine issues each year in hardcopy, CD, and electronic form. The AAAI departments responsible for the bulk of this activity are AI Magazine and AAAI Press.

AI Magazine

Called the journal of record for the AI community, AI Magazine helps AAAI members stay abreast of significant new research and literature across the entire field of artificial intelligence. This quarterly publication features timely, feature-length articles, consistently crafted to be clear enough to permit specialists to review work outside their particular area of expertise.
