Many factors have been identified as essential to, or at least associated with, creative people and the creative process Ð from divine inspiration to diligent perspiration. Work in psychology and some AI programs suggest useful characteristics of creative ideas and mechanisms that are likely components of a model of creativity. An essential part of the model presented here is the ability to reason at the meta-level.
